'Winning the LGBTQ+ Undergraduate of the Year Award has hands down been the highlight of my year thus far. Firstly, to have the work that I have done with FUSE be recognised on such a large, prestigious platform is not only a fantastic opportunity for more LGBTQ+ students of colour to be inspired to start similar initiatives, but also to shine a light on a vibrant, diverse community that is often considered as not much more than a minority within a minority.' – Zareen Roy-Macauley, LGBTQ+ Undergraduate of the Year 2020.

Clifford Chance and the LGBTQ+ Undergraduate of the Year Award
We're delighted to be partnering the LGBTQ+ Undergraduate of the Year Award for the fourth year alongside National Student Pride and ATTITUDE. This award celebrates the diverse range of talent, endeavours, and achievements made by LGBTQ+ students.
We recognise the unequivocal right of every individual to be who they are. We feel a sense of duty to champion, pioneer and campaign for the equal rights of under-represented groups wherever possible. We strive to ensure that we create an environment that not only embraces people from all walks of life but celebrates their identity and individuality, providing a foundation from where they can flourish. We're committed to doing everything possible to deliver greater equality for LGBTQ+ people in our firm, help build the capacity of our clients to be stronger supporters of equality, and drive real change across the world.
If you identify as LGBTQ+, this is your opportunity to showcase the contributions that you have made in the LGBTQ+ space and to be a role model for other students who might be struggling with their identity or questioning what they can achieve personally and professionally.
But why would a global law firm partner this award, and why is your sexuality even important? Well, the answer is very simple.
Whether you've considered a career in law or not, providing legal services to our clients relies heavily on our amazingly talented and diverse people. Our clients are made up of a range of businesses, and to find ever better solutions to our clients’ most important challenges, we must build the best team, made up of people from a range of demographics including different gender identities and sexual orientations.
It’s our aim to be the LGBTQ+ employer of choice in the legal sector, where our culture supports people to be themselves, all day, every day – so this award means everything to us.
