Are you the Future Actuary of the Year?

We’re searching UK universities to find the Future Actuary of the Year. We’re looking for highly numerate and commercially minded undergraduate students who aspire to an actuarial career with impact.

To enter you need to:

  • be an undergraduate student at a university in the UK
  • be in either in your first year or your penultimate year
  • be studying a STEM degree
  • have an interest in actuary as a future career
  • have achieved an A-grade or above in Maths A-level, A-grade in Maths Scottish higher or international equivalent of this

What could you win?

You could win a nine-week paid actuarial summer internship with Aon starting in June 2024. This is a London-based rotational internship, offering the choice to work in two of our actuarial business areas including wealth, general insurance and reinsurance. In addition, you’ll receive 1-2-1 mentoring from an actuarial colleague at associate partner level.

All finalists will be assessed for Aon’s summer internship or industrial placement roles starting in June/Sep 2024 as well as receiving Aon merchandise.

What makes an award winner?

Our winner will have a real interest and passion in pursuing an actuarial career. Aon has designed this award to help aspiring actuaries launch their careers through valuable paid work experience and mentoring opportunities. You’ll need to be studying a highly numerical degree such as maths or actuarial science. You will also have:

  • strong communication and analytical skills
  • commercial awareness
  • the drive to deliver excellent work
  • lots of ambition and an enthusiastic approach
  • the ability to form positive relationships
  • knowledge of The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) actuarial qualifications.

Your details must be submitted and all online tests completed by 9am on Tuesday 30 January 2024

If you are successful in getting through to the next stage, you will hear from us by 28 February 2024

Assessment

If you pass the online tests and successfully make it to the next stage your application will be reviewed by Aon. Successful candidates will be invited to a two-day Insight and Selection event at Aon's London headquarters on Thursday 29 February and Friday 1 March 2024. Accommodation will be provided.

Grand final

The final shortlist of ten students will be invited to the awards ceremony on 26 April 2024, where the award winners will be announced.
